Claire Dorfman joined the National Security Archive as a Research Assistant in October 2021. She assists Senior Analyst Kate Doyle on the Evidence Project, connecting the right to truth and access to information with human rights and justice struggles in Latin America. Claire is based in Mexico City, where she has worked as an archivist and independent researcher since 2018. She received her bachelor’s degree in Photography and Spanish from New York University and previously worked in document and photography collections in New York and Buenos Aires. Claire is currently co-editing a book of photographs from the armed conflict in El Salvador with the photojournalist Robert Nickelsberg, whose archive she has managed since 2017.
