Rachel Santarsiero joined the National Security Archive as a Herbert Scoville Jr. Peace Fellow in March 2022, with a background in international studies, writing, and engineering. Currently, she works closely with Director of the Iraq Documentation Project Joyce Battle on the upcoming Digital National Security Archive publication (DNSA) Targeting Iraq, Part II: Occupation, Surge, and ISIS, 2004-2017. She also assists FOIA Associate and Researcher Claire Harvey on the upcoming Climate Change Project by drafting FOIA requests, carrying out research, and processing declassified materials.
Rachel is working towards her Master of Science in International Development at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), where she has worked as a research assistant on issues related to development in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. In 2018, she graduated from WPI with a dual Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and Professional Writing, and a minor in International and Global Studies.
