The National Security Archive is looking for a motivated and creative Social Media and Communications Intern to help us expand our digital presence and reach wider audiences with our groundbreaking work. The Archive is committed to challenging government secrecy and uncovering hidden histories—from U.S. foreign policy in Latin America to nuclear weapons, intelligence operations, and more.
The National Security Archive was founded in 1985 by journalists and scholars to check rising government secrecy and combines a unique range of functions: an investigative journalism center, library and archive of declassified U.S. documents, leading non-profit user of the U.S. Freedom of Information Act, public interest law firm defending and expanding public access to government information, and global advocate of open government.
As part of our communications team, you’ll help bring our projects to light for a broader audience. This is an opportunity to help shape and grow the Archive’s long-term strategy for social media and digital communications.
