British Nuclear History--Public Record Office (PRO) Documents (Robert S. Norris Donation This collection includes documents on Britain's nuclear weapons program acquired from the National Archives (UK), formerly known as the Public Record Office. They originated from various branches of the British government, including the Prime Minister's Office and the Ministry of Defence.

Gregg Herken Donation - Documents collected by Gregg Herken for his book, Brotherhood of the Bomb: The Tangled Lives and Loyalties of Robert Oppenheimer, Ernest Lawrence, and Edward Teller (New York: Henry Holt, 2002). The collection includes the text of original endnotes.
H-Bomb Secret (Howard Morland Donation)- Notes, court documents, and research materials collected by Howard Morland for his article in the Progressive and his book, The Secret That Exploded.
Natural Resources Defense Council Research Collection (Robert S. Norris Donation). Documents collected by the staff of the Nuclear Program of the National Resources Defense Council over a period of 25 years beginning in 1980.
North Atlantic Treaty Organization/Nuclear History Project Collection (Robert Wampler Donation) – Collection includes declassified documents) used by Robert Wampler in working on his Ph.D. dissertation, "Ambiguous Legacy: The United States, Great Britain and the Foundations of NATO Nuclear Strategy 1948-1957” (Harvard 1991), and materials produced by the Nuclear History Program.
Nuclear Control Institute Collection (Paul Leventhal Donation) Over 300 boxes of records relating to the activities of the NCI and Leventhal's work in the U.S. Senate on investigations and nuclear nonproliferation legislation,
Nuclear Energy/Weapons Collection (William Lanouette Donation) - Documents collected by writer and policy analyst William Lanouette, includes documents from the Atomic Energy Commission and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
Nuclear History Program Collections - During its existence, the National Security Archive worked closely with the Nuclear History Program [NHP], a transnational organization that sponsored groundbreaking research on the history of nuclear weapons programs and policies in the United States and Europe during the Cold War. Besides funding the Archive's work on the Berlin crisis, the Nuclear History Program donated two important collections of materials to the Archive:
NHP Collection - An important collection of material on nuclear arms control during the Eisenhower administration collected by Charles Appleby for his dissertation research. This collection also includes document briefing books for NHP oral history interviews on NATO nuclear strategy.
Nuclear History Program Database - Database on nuclear delivery systems deployments and developments prepared for the Nuclear History Program by Phil Karber and Michael Yaffe.
Nuclear History Collection (Fred Kaplan Donation) - Material collected by Fred Kaplan when researching The Wizards of Armageddon (New York, Simon & Shuster, 1983; reprinted, Palo Alto: Stanford University Press,1991)
Nuclear Safety Collection (Scott Sagan Donation) - Documents collected by Stanford University political scientist Scott Sagan for his book The Limits of Safety: Organizations, Accidents, and Nuclear Weapons (Princeton: Princeton University Press, 1993).
Nuclear Non-Proliferation Unpublished Collection - This collection contains documents that were either not used in the Making of U.S. Policy set or that were elicited through the Freedom of Information process after the set's publication.
Nuclear Weapons Collection (Michael Yaffe Donation) - Collection of primary and secondary research sources used by Michael Yaffe to write his dissertation, “Origins of the Tactical Nuclear Weapons Modernization Program: 1969-1979” (University of Pennsylvania).
Nuclear Weapons Costs Study Collection (Stephen I. Schwartz Donation) - Materials were collected by Schwartz for research on the nuclear costs project and later published as Atomic Audit (Washington, D.C: Brookings Institution Press, 1998).
Nuclear Weapons Secrets Collection (Chuck Hansen Donation) - 96 boxes of documents collected by Chuck Hansen for US Nuclear Weapons: The Secret History. (Arlington, TX: Aerofax, Incorporated, 1988) and Swords of Armaggedon: U.S. Nuclear Weapons Development since 1945 (CD-ROM) (Sunnyvale, CA, Chucklea Publications, 1995, 2007 updated)
Radiological Warfare Collection (James David Donation) - Documents donated by James David, curator of military space history in the Division of Space History at the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum.
U.S. Advisory Committee on Human Radiation Experiments Database - This database includes document catalogs, bibliographies, and other materials that the Advisory Committee collected when it was preparing its reports to the public. All documents that the Committee collected are available at the National Archives as is the “asci” version of the database. as a separate collection. The National Security Archive’s version of the database retains the original Lotus Notes format developed by the Advisory Committee staff. The database is available for use at the Archive's reading room, by appointment. The documents collected by the Department of Energy to assist the Advisory Committee are available at the National Security Archive as a separate collection.
The Archive has also obtained, and made available on this website, the original ACHRE gopher materials containing Committee data, sources, meetings, and the interim report.
