S tat e S e r v i c e o f S p e c i a l C o m m u n i c at i o n s a n d I n f o r m at i o n P r o t e c t i o n o f U k r a i n e Uniting efforts with European countries for safer cyberspace and fending off cyber threats News 31 08 2022 12 15 The SSSCIP and the National Cyber Security Directorate of Romania have signed a Memorandum of Understanding in cooperation for cyber defense Cyberspace has no borders It is not just Ukraine suffering from attacks from russian hackers but also the rest of democratic countries in the world Therefore today it is paramount to unite and coordinate the efforts in countering threats Only together we can defeat the enemy This Memorandum of Understanding is another big step towards strengthening our country’s and our partners’ cyber resilience involving exchange of experience and best practices in cyber defense sharing information on cyber incidents vulnerability identification methods and addressing cyber threats cooperation in new cybersecurity studies collaboration in projects aimed at increasing and further strengthening cyber defense capacities of public and private institutions and much more Another important part of the cooperation is teaching and training cyber defense specialists This includes as Viktor Zhora the SSSCIP Deputy Head mentions some peculiar approaches to emulation of cyberattacks on automated process control systems Because this is one of the directions in our work at the UA30 Cyber Center’s training facility “Over the last six months since the beginning of russia’s full-scale military invasion Ukraine has accumulated huge experience in fending off cyberattacks — exceeding a thousand events as of today We are willing to share our experience with and learn from our partners Improving our knowledge of cyber defense and learning is crucial for our employees for staff responsible for cybersecurity in our country’s public authorities and people working at critical infrastructure facilities ” says Yuii Shchyhol the SSSCIP Head
