Over the last twenty years, the Russia programs collected, cataloged and analyzed about 18,000 individual documents that are part of its Russian and East European Document Database. In addition to translating and publishing these documents in Electronic Briefing Books online and as collections for conferences, the Russia program makes a special effort to “repatriate” documents, to make them available for scholars in Russia and Eastern Europe. For the last ten years, the Russia programs developed a Russian page, where we publish document collections in the original Russian. READD-RADD includes documents from the Volkogonov Collection of the Library of Congress as well as documents from the Russian State Archive of Contemporary History (RGANI), Russian State Archive (GARF), Russian State Archive of Social and Political History (RGASPI) and the Gorbachev Foundation. The Russian page also includes important donated collections of documents from Anatoly Sergeyevich Chernyaev, Sergo Anastasovich Mikoyan, Andrey Serafimovich Grachev and other sources.
